the landlady

I choose the landlady because is my favorite stories of roald dahl. its about this 17 year man that is traveling for work. when he gets to the city, he didnt new were to stay so he start walking and notice a place that was named "bed and breakfast"  " There was a vase of yellow chrysanthemums, tall and beautiful, standing just underneath the notice" when he use characterization in this part you start getting and image of how this place is, and why billy is so atractive to it.  "He went right up and peered through the glass into the room, and the first thing he saw was a bright fire burning in the hearth. On the carpet in front of the fire, a pretty little dachshund was curled up asleep with its nose tucked into its belly. The room itself, so far as he could see in the half darkness, was filled with pleasant furniture. There was a baby grand piano and a big sofa and several plump armchairs, and in one corner he spotted a large parrot in a cage." when billy look at all this things and that there were animals and was very cozy in there. " it must have been at once because he hadn’t even had time to take his finger from the bell button—the door swung open and a woman was standing there." when this happend you autoaticlly think that the lady was very openeyed like waiting for billy to knock.

I like this short storie because the way roald dahl use imagery, gives you an image of how billy look and how a person is just out of how is billy wearing. "was wearing a new navy-blue overcoat, a new brown trilby hat, and a new brown suit." when he sais that you get an imagery of billy of an elegant man that is serious about his job.
"She was about forty-five or fifty years old, and the moment she saw him, she gave him a warm, welcoming smile" when the author writed this, you notice that this woman its old and that maybe she is a little intense and creepy because of the door event.

Jonas Changing the World

               Our Hero Jonas

Our hero Jonas is feeling more alone that ever. he just cant play anymore with his friend cant talk with hes family because he knows to much of life. It almost have past a year since he has been training for being a receiver, Know his sister lily is going to be a ninth.

Jonas ask the giver what happened to the other receiver. The giver told him it was awful for him and Jonas understand one of his rules "not ask for a release". That rule was created because rosemary (the other reciever) was into too much pain and ask for a release it was a disaster. Jonas see how his dad release the baby twin he was in so much pain he stayed in with the giver. The giver and Jonas came up with a plan, Jonas is going to elsewhere, Jonas our hero find our that rosemary was the daughter of the giver,

                                   Jonas transition

Jonas now is feeling really pain of the giver memories. while this hole transition going on he is feeling lonely because he cant tell anyone cant take medications for the pain. all this memories that he is getting is to give advice to the elders with his wisdom that the memories cause.

by all this pain he is receiving now he knows how does the giver feels when he is in a bad mood. the giver give Jonas a memories of Christmas when there are grandpas in the house and the children people are happy Jonas is thinking about why does that don't happens anymore.

from the distance Jonas could hear the thud of canons. overwhelmed by pain, he lay there in the fearsome stench for hours, listen to the men and animals die, and learned what warfare meant.
finally when he knew that he could bear it no longer and would welcome death himself, he opened his eyes and was once again on the bed. the giver looked away, as if he could not bear to see what he had done to Jonas"forgive me," he said.

in the giver Jonas has start his first stirrings. he was in the morning like usually in this distopia community sharing their dreams, but he usually don't have dreams, this time was different he has dream about a girl that he like Fiona. he freak out when they parents told him that he needed to get treatment like if he was going to go to rehabilitation but his parents told him that he only need to take a pill.

Jonas dream

"but what about the treatment the speaker says that treatment must take place" Jonas felt miserable "no no " she said "its just the pills you are ready for the pills that all"
this quote is when Jonas is freaking out and his mother explain him that he only need to take a pill.

Reading and Learning

                                       The Giver

Jonas is a normal boy just like other boys in the community. He is almost going to be in the ceremony of twelve that is were the kids turn in adults that means that they are giving their assigments for life. To get this assigments you need to have all the volunteer hours that they spesify. The ones that give the assigment to the kids, think about the part were most you voluntire and based on that they give you your assigment. In this comunitie you always need to tell your familly what are your feeling at night because if you dont tell them or dont do this tradition at all, you would get released.

In this few chapter i have pass I am having a lot of questions "Two children- one male and one female- to each familly unit" why they can be only one boy and one girl in a family. Another question I have is that why the kids that arent older than 9 years old can ride a bicycle.

I am enjoing very much this book because there are so many questioans that if you keep reading you may find out, so that why im like in it so much because im intricate about what would happend next and, if im going to find out sometnig new.
